What Does the "Clear Canvas" Feature Do?
The Clear Canvas feature completely removes everything from the currently selected panel in the Product Editor, leaving that panel blank and ready for a completely new design.
This feature is intended for customers who want to start over on a specific panel without manually removing individual design elements.
What Gets Removed?
When you select Clear Canvas, the entire panel is cleared. This includes:
- Original card artwork on that panel
- Personalized text
- Uploaded photos and images
- Artwork added from the Artwork Library
- Signatures
- QR codes
- Logos and uploaded graphics
- Any other design elements displayed on that panel
After clearing, the selected panel will be completely blank.
Does It Clear My Entire Card?
No. Clear Canvas only affects the panel you are currently viewing.
For example:
- Clearing the Front panel does not affect the Inside or Back panels.
- Clearing the Inside panel does not affect the Front panel.
- Clearing the Back panel does not affect the Envelope panel.
Only the active panel is cleared. All other panels remain unchanged.
Will I Be Warned Before Everything Is Removed?
Yes. Before the panel is cleared, you'll receive a confirmation message explaining that all content on the selected panel will be deleted.
Because Clear Canvas removes everything from the panel, be sure this is the result you want before confirming.
What If I Only Want One Element Removed or Changed?
Clear Canvas is not the correct tool for that situation.
Our Product Editor includes a wide variety of editing tools that allow you to customize many aspects of your design yourself, including:
- Adding, editing, or deleting text
- Uploading and replacing images
- Adding artwork from the Artwork Library
- Applying image filters and effects
- Using the Eraser tool to modify images
- Changing colors and backgrounds
- Creating signatures and QR codes
- Moving, resizing, rotating, and repositioning design elements
We recommend first exploring the available editing tools to see if the desired change can be made directly within the editor.
However, if you are unable to make the change yourself and would like a specific design element reviewed for removal or modification, you may submit a special request.
Examples may include:
- A piece of artwork
- A graphic element
- A design accent
- A greeting or message
- Another portion of the original card design
To request a review, add the item to your cart and enter detailed instructions in the Special Order Instructions (Optional) box.
Please be as specific as possible when describing what you would like changed, removed, or added. Our design team will evaluate the request and determine whether the modification is technically feasible.
Because each product is different, some requests may be possible while others may not be compatible with the product's design, printing method, or production process.
Can All Special Requests Be Made?
Not always. Requests submitted through Special Order Instructions are reviewed by our design team to determine whether the requested change is feasible and compatible with the product's design and production process.
Some changes may be possible, while others may not.
Helpful Tips
- Use Clear Canvas when you want to completely redesign a panel from scratch.
- Verify you're on the correct panel before clearing it.
- Consider saving your project before making major changes.
- Explore the editor's customization tools before requesting design modifications.
- Use Special Order Instructions if you need a design element reviewed for removal or modification that cannot be accomplished using the available editor tools.
If you're unsure whether Clear Canvas or a special design request is the right option, our customer service team is happy to help.
