  2. PARTICIPATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND DECISIONS, CONSENT TO USE AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS. By entering this giveaway, each participant warrants that he or she has read and agrees to abide by all giveaway rules and that he or she is not prohibited from participating in the giveaway. Participation in this giveaway constitutes participant’s full and unconditional acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of CardsDirect, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “CardsDirect”), its parents, affiliates, employees and agents, which are final, binding and non-negotiable in all respect. Each participant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless CardsDirect and its parents, affiliates, shareholders, employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers from any liability arising from or related to the giveaway, including without limitation, (a) unauthorized human intervention in the giveaway; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; and (e) claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. Further, participants fully and unconditionally release all claims for consideration, copyright infringement and all other claims of any nature relating to the use of their entry, name or likeness.
  3. ELIGIBILITY. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents who: (i) are 17 years of age and older; (ii) at the time of entry are either a full-time student enrolled in a post-secondary education institution, including junior colleges and vocational schools or formally accepted into such post-secondary educational institution beginning schooling within the next calendar year; and (iii) do not already have other scholarships awarded which cover 100% of their tuition. Proof of age and identity must be furnished upon request. Employees, agents, independent dealers and affiliates of CardsDirect and its agents, affiliates and immediate family members of all such persons, are not eligible to participate in this giveaway. CardsDirect reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, suspend, or amend this giveaway at any time for any reason. CardsDirect further reserves the right to amend these giveaway rules at any time without prior notice, at its sole discretion. CardsDirect reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to, violation of these Official Rules, copyright infringement or infringement of the rights of a third-party.
  4. TO ENTER. This giveaway will run on or about January 1st, 2023 through December 1, 2023. To enter this giveaway, participants are asked to: (i) navigate to the CardsDirect website at www.cardsdirect.com/scholarship (the “Website”); (ii) fully complete the entry form with the required information; and (iii) submit their holiday focused original work of art or photograph as specified (“Eligible Entries”) to be eligible to win. Please note that the entry photo must be in jpeg format with at least 300dpi and fit within the formats provided on the Website. Each participant may only submit one entry and by submitting an entry participants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Duplicate entries from the same email address/person/household/business will be automatically eliminated without notice to the participant. Persons submitting incomplete entries or entries under false pretenses will be disqualified. CardsDirect is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods will void all such entries by such methods. CardsDirect is not responsible for any lost or misdirected mail sent by participant or CardsDirect. Participant’s submission signifies agreement by participant to grant CardsDirect an exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable, perpetual license to publicly display participant’s entry and to use such entry in any future marketing without any monetary compensation. Participant further certifies that the entry submitted does not contain any trademarks, logos, copyrighted material, or other intellectual property belonging to any third party and that all intellectual property shown is owned by participant. CardsDirect reserves the right to disqualify any entry which CardsDirect, in its sole discretion, determines to be offensive, illegal, in violation of any privacy or other third party rights or for any other reason. By entering, participant also agrees that CardsDirect may publish participant’s name and entry on CardsDirect’s website, or in such other media or formats as CardsDirect may elect without any compensation. By entering, participant also agrees to confirm any of the above in writing upon request by CardsDirect.

  5. PRIZES. There will be twenty (20) Eligible Entries selected from all Eligible Entries by an internal panel of judges for CardsDirect in their sole discretion on or about the week of December 4, 2023. These 20 Eligible Entries will be posted on the CardsDirect website for voting open to the general public. Each individual will be allowed to vote once per day and any use of automated or third party software in voting is prohibited and will disqualify the entry. The voting period will remain open on the Website from December 5, 2023 through December 12, 2023. After the voting period closes, the top five (5) entries with the most votes will advance to the final round in which the internal panel of judges for CardsDirect will select one (1) prize winner on or about the week of December 20, 2023. The criteria that CardsDirect’s internal panel of judges will use in selecting each winner will include, but is not limited to: 1) overall aesthetic appeal, creativity and originality; 2) quality of execution; and 3) appropriateness for use as a greeting card. Each respective winner hereby agrees to assign all rights, including but not limited to copyrights, to their entry to CardsDirect. Upon completion of the obligations specified herein, the selected winner will then receive a one thousand five hundred ($1,500) dollar check made payable to the qualified institution reflected on the winner’s entry.

    The retail value of the respective prize package is $1,500.00 and odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received.

    The winner is responsible for any taxes or other costs and expenses not listed above. All decisions of CardsDirect in this giveaway are final, binding and non-negotiable. A winner will be considered to forfeit the prize if he/she does not attend a post-secondary institution. Prizes are non-transferable, no substitution will be made, and no prize may be transferred or substituted for its cash value.

  6. IDENTIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNER. CardsDirect will notify the potential winner by email address at the information on file for the winner on or about the week of December 20. If unable to make contact with the winner within 20 (twenty) business days after CardsDirect’s first attempts to notify the winner, or if the winner fails to claim the prize in accordance with these Official Rules, the winner forfeits the prize. To accept and receive the prize, the winner must: a) sign and return to CardsDirect a copy of these Official Rules; b) execute a Copyright Assignment form assigning all intellectual property rights and ownership of the winning design entry to CardsDirect; c) sign a form provided by CardsDirect releasing CardsDirect from all claims; d) provide proof of enrollment in the form of a billing statement to their post-secondary educational institution; and e) provide any other documents specified by CardsDirect in their sole discretion by the deadlines specified. The winner’s name may be posted at ##HOST##/ as well as the CardsDirect blogs, Twitter and Facebook pages if applicable.

BECAUSE PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM PARTICIPANTS WILL BE COLLECTED BY ENTERING THIS GIVEAWAY, PARTICIPANTS SHOULD REVIEW CardsDirect’s Privacy Policy, which can be found at ##HOST##/ By entering this giveaway, participant authorizes CardsDirect to contact participant for commercial purposes via fax, telephone, or e-mail address listed on the participant’s entry form. There will be no use of participants name or other personal information for future commercial purposes except as in accordance with CardsDirect’s privacy policy. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without giving effect to conflicts of law rules.
