This product and a birthday card I bought both have black backgrounds. The black is not solid. It looks like a black chalkboard. If that is the look you are going for, then this product is perfect. If you are expecting a solid black background you will be disappointed. I was expecting a solid background so I was disappointed in how it turned out. Upon looking at the website again, I can see that the image does correspond to the product I received. So my disappointment is entirely my fault. Next year, I'll look more carefully. Everything else in my order was spot on. Thanks.
