Hanukkah Cards

No Tags

Over the past 100 years Hanukkah has been reborn to become a popular holiday among Jews. Partially due to the growing popularity of Christmas in the late 1800’s as well as the declination of another important holiday “the miracle of lights”, Hanukkah finally established itself in modern day Jewish faith. This holiday now focuses on a greater emphasis on the Maccabees, as well as displays the resistance to assimilation and the defense of religious and ethnic pluralism among the Jewish community, as well as on the giving of gifts, and on the pleasure of children. Just as the tradition of Christmas and other holiday cards, the giving of cards for Hanukkah is growing in popularity. Not just to follow another tradition, but truly to make one of it’s own, sending Hanukkah cards is a certain way to thoughtfully remind friends and family that you care and represents acceptance of an important piece of Jewish history.
