Etiquette for greeting cards

No Tags

Sending cards to clients, vendors, employees and other business associates has become common practice for many companies. Here are some things to consider when picking out a business greeting card to represent yourself and/or your company.
1. Consider your audience. There are wide variety and styles of cards available. Make sure that the cards you choose are representative of your company and corporate culture.
2. Buy quality. Professionally printed cards that are of higher pound paper and contain some details such as embossing and foil will send the impression that your clients are valuable. Skimping on your purchase could send the message that the company is not performing as well or that you don’t view your clients as worth a little more investment.
3. Sign your cards personally, or have the signature scanned and imprinted. Even if you have the business name and message printed you should sign the cards as well.
4. Handwrite the address. Using pre-printed labels to send your greeting cards can make your wishes look more like a mass marketing project rather than a personal greeting.
5. Use appropriate titles. This is especially true for holiday greetings but even birthday and thank you cards should be sent with a touch of formality.
