What Kind of Stamp Should I Use?

Tags: , ,

Dear Ms. Cards Etiquette,

I know I’m not supposed to use the office postage meter for my company’s card mailings, but are there any guidelines for what kind of stamps are most appropriate? Thanks!

Oh, Anxious! It’s wonderful that you’re so concerned about your mailings, but what kind of stamps you use isn’t really a big deal, so long as they’re actual stamps.

If you really want your cards to be coordinated to the last detail, just think of what kind of mailing you’re doing, and choose a stamp design that matches the theme. For Easter, flower stamps would be nice. For the Christmas season, a stamp with a fir tree or snowflake is a good choice. If you run a wedding boutique, one of the Love series of stamps might be good.

Nowadays, you can even order custom photo stamps too, to give a really personal touch to your mailing. Perhaps you could make stamps with a miniature version of a photo card picture … remember, you don’t have to be dead to be on a postage stamp anymore! What fun! You could even order a batch of company logo stamps for general mailing purposes, like thank you cards or client reminder postcards.

The choice is really up to you, Anxious. But it’s certainly nothing to worry about.
