Valentine Gift Ideas

I suspect the big white tents boasting a great selection of flowers, candies, stuffed animals and Valentine cards will be sprouting up in grocery store parking lots very soon now.  Valentine’s Day cards are second only to Christmas cards in the seasonal greeting card business.  Along with that most precious of Happy Valentine’s Day Cards, consider adding one of the following gift suggestions.

Restaurant Gift Certificates.  Good food for both, no kitchen time or cleanup and fun to share as a couple.

Spa Gift Certificates.  Stress reliever to keep your loving relationship on the right course.

Ice Cream Social.  An alternative to heart shaped chocolates, this one gets you both out of the house and happily licking the problems of the world together.

Walk in the Park.  Free, with the added opportunity to hold hands.  I call that priceless, even if you bring the kids along!

Picnic.  Inside or out, this one includes food, fun and each others company, just like when you first dated!  Include the kids if you must or schedule it for late at night in front of the fireplace!

Tips for the Perfect Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is February 14 and right around the corner.  Here are some helpful tips for making sure that day is everything you and your loved ones have hoped for.

Tip #1—Make your restaurant reservations now!  Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year so restaurants are sure to be packed.  A hungry valentine is not a particularly happy valentine so go ahead and make that special dinner reservation now.  You would much rather be gazing into each others eyes by candlelight over a plate of delicious pasta than standing in a crowded corner waiting for your name to be called!

And don’t forget to remember all your loved ones with personalized Valentine Cards!

Next Holiday?

While roaming the grocery aisles yesterday I noticed that the clearance Christmas items had been replaced with an entire aisle of heart shaped boxes of chocolates, conversation heart candies and various red and pink items. Yes, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.

I’m always a bit saddened when the November/December holiday season comes to an abrupt end but now see retailers are bridging that holiday gap by promoting the next gifting event on February 14, Valentine’s Day!
