Forbes called him the consummate salesman. Fortune Magazine praised him in their article, “The Art of Selling”. Newsweek called him “something special”. He received the title of Greatest Car Salesman by the Guinness Book of World Records. Who is this sales legend? Joe Girard is his name. Joe sold automobiles. He sold big ticket items one at a time, selling 1,425 cars in his best year. How did he do it? One of his secret weapons was greeting cards!

Joe sent out an average of 13 cards every year to each of his clients. He would send one card a month and holiday cards in December. He hired two assistants to help and remembered customers with birthday cards, anniversary cards and any celebratory occasion you can think of from Halloween to Groundhog Day.
He knew that business greeting cards inspired customer loyalty and proved that by keeping his name in front of his customers, they would be motivated to refer him to their friends as well as return when they needed another car.
Why not try it yourself and experience success just like Joe!

I was surprised to learn yesterday that Christmas card orders are still rolling in. Not as many as in September or October but there are businesses out there buying their Thanksgiving cards and Holiday cards now. Why, I wondered? To use their budgeted funds before they are possibly cut!
That seems to make sense to me. Some wise people are planning ahead and are sure to win praise later in the year when they announce that the holiday cards have already been bought and paid for, thereby assuring their valued clients and business associates that business is good and you can still afford to send cards this year.
So, go ahead and place your greeting card orders now. Lighten up your mood by looking at snowflakes, trees, wreaths and colorful ornaments while picking out the perfect holiday cards in the Spring. You’ll be way ahead of the game this year!

A recent national survey of small business owners has found that the majority plan to continue the annual tradition of sending holiday cards and corporate gifts to their clients, customers and business associates this holiday season. Staying connected and building strong business relationships is key to survival in these uncertain times and sending greeting cards is a wise investment in those partnerships.

Findings from the Zogby International survey confirmed that 45% of small businesses send holiday cards and/or gifts. Of those, 78% send holiday cards and 25% send gifts.
59% of small businesses report that their holiday spending will go unchanged this year while 41% say the economy will affect their holiday spending but only 5% plan not to send anything out this year.
It is interesting to note that small businesses have confirmed that the value and strengthened business relationships holiday greeting cards bring to those they do business with are well worth the minimal expenditure. So, before you consider striking holiday cards from your budget, think again! You could be decreasing your profits as well!
The day after Thanksgiving is great for shopping early holiday sales at retail but even better if the office is open and there is work to be done. The phones aren’t ringing off the wall, emails drop in more slowly and no one really expects an instant answer to an inquiry. This is the perfect day to catch up or clear the decks for the beginning of the holiday rush.
It is also the perfect day to set aside for signing, stuffing and mailing your holiday cards!
So, order your holiday cards now and use that Friday to ready your cards. You’ll be ahead of the game and enjoy the holiday spirit too without having to stand in lines or hit the mall before the sun comes up!
And those cards you send to customers, business associates, friends and family will insure business prosperity for the future. Make holiday card sending an annual Day after Thanksgiving tradition!
